The National Highway Authority (NHA), in 2016, initiated land acquisition process for upgradation and dualization of Zhob – Quetta (Kuchlak) road (addition of 2 new lanes). Project inaugurated in March 2019 as the ECNEC approved separate PC-Is for construction and land acquisition of the project. Existing 2 lanes are in very good condition while geometric improvements will be made to the existing alignment to achieve the design speed. Tendering for construction work of two sections is completed and contractor mobilized whereas the remaining three sections tendering will process soon. The proposed 4 lane facility, of worth Rs.66,833 million as a part of western route development, will contribute to the socio-economic development of Baluchistan, Central Punjab and KP.
