DDamak Clean Industrial Park will come up at Damak, Gaurahadaha, and Kamal local levels, covering about 902.928 hectares. It is noted that China will bear the building cost of the project and would hand it over to Nepal after 40 years. However, locals have protested against the lack of transparency and land occupation without any compensation. International Forum for Rights and Security (IFFRAS), a Canadian think tank, reported that over 5,000 protesters have lamented about illegal activities in the BRI-led industrial park. It is also reported that DCIP will affect the socio-economic, cultural, and physical environment and at the same time it would be equally beneficial to locals. Announced in 2021, the implementation of the industrial park is in its initial stage. The preliminary work has been done while the construction work will begin soon..
